Dead in the Family - A Sookie Stackhouse Novel : Southern Vampire Mysteries, Book 10
The #1 New York Times bestselling Sookie Stackhouse series- the basis for HBO(r)'s True Blood-continues!
After enduring torture and the loss of loved ones during the brief but deadly Faery War, Sookie Stackhouse is hurt and she's angry. Just about the only bright spot in her life is the love she thinks she feels for vampire Eric Northman. But he's under scrutiny by the new Vampire King because of their relationship. And as the political implications of the Shifters coming out are beginning to be felt, Sookie's connection to the Shreveport pack draws her into the debate. Worst of all, though the door to Faery has been closed, there are still some Fae on the human side-and one of them is angry at Sookie. Very, very angry...

21 . Nicely Done
Posted May 07, 2010 by Meeshy Meeshy , ChicagoA couple of very interesting twist and turns made this an enjoyable book to read. I am huge fan of the series and eagerly await each new book. The over all story line was well done however I wanted more about Sookie and Eric... And Bill and ??? (Don't want to ruin it!)... I did enjoy the "historic" character even though they were derranged. Overall well done even though Bubba did not make an appearance!
22 . Can't wait for the next book!
Posted May 07, 2010 by Louis Urquijo , San Diego, CAIf you have read any of the previous Sookie Stackhouse novels, you will not be a bit dissapointed with this novel. Being a fan of Ms. Harris's other novels, I can only say that Ms. Harris sure loves her characters. Don't be overwhelmed by all the characters that pop up. It is part of Ms. Harris's charm.
I hope you all will the enjoy the book as much as I did. I normally like to read only a few chapters at a time, in order to enjoy a story - but broke my own rule and read this one in almost one sitting.
23 . Great but incomplete
Posted May 07, 2010 by Sofia , DallasI really like the Sookie Stackhouse series. I have read every book twice already and can hardly wait until the next book comes out. Having said this, the only down side to this book was that it seemed unfinished. There should have been a few more chapters. When the book ended I was left, wondering where the rest of the book was. Of course that doesn't change my opinion of the series, I still like it, but feel like Charlaine Harris should pay more attention to detail when writing.
24 . Great book
Posted May 06, 2010 by Analaura , Mexico CityI wasn't fan of the last 2 books because didn't think they were a step forward for Sookie. They were all 'lets get revenge of Sookie', and i think the topic was driven too much.
Now this book is amazing. It's not as fast paced but has an amazing amount of information to absorb and I'm glad Charlaine put a stop to some storylines that weren't entertaining anymore. A lot of big loose ends are tied up this time, and I feel for the first time in many books that I know what's going up for the next one.
The book is a good bridge to more vampire/were action for the next book as Sookie is more and more into the hierarchy of both 'bands'. I'm really looking forward for what's to come.
25 . Too short!
Posted May 06, 2010 by Cris , Rockfall, ctThis book was pretty good. It started off pretty much where the last book left off. I only had 2 problems with this book. It was way to short and the ending kinda felt unfinished. I really hate having to wait for the next book to come out. I am hoping it will be a longer book.
26 . not as good as the other books
Posted May 05, 2010 by manderz , yubaI have read all the other southern vampire books and i was very disappointed in this book. It was boring and not much of a story to it besides sookie day to day schedule. there wasnt a great plot like all the rest of the books. it was a ok read but i am let down about it.
