Dead in the Family - A Sookie Stackhouse Novel : Southern Vampire Mysteries, Book 10
The #1 New York Times bestselling Sookie Stackhouse series- the basis for HBO(r)'s True Blood-continues!
After enduring torture and the loss of loved ones during the brief but deadly Faery War, Sookie Stackhouse is hurt and she's angry. Just about the only bright spot in her life is the love she thinks she feels for vampire Eric Northman. But he's under scrutiny by the new Vampire King because of their relationship. And as the political implications of the Shifters coming out are beginning to be felt, Sookie's connection to the Shreveport pack draws her into the debate. Worst of all, though the door to Faery has been closed, there are still some Fae on the human side-and one of them is angry at Sookie. Very, very angry...

11 . Dead in the Family
Posted May 17, 2010 by Angelia , S,FI was so disappointed after reading this book. I am a huge Sookie Stackhouse fan and it appeared to me as though Charline Harris was only interested in meeting a deadline, rather than putting out a quality novel. The ending was riduculous and not worthy of the series as a whole. I'm hoping that she will put forth a little more effort in the next book and if not, she should consider just ending the series if her heart is no longer in it.
12 . Sookie's caught up in another crazy Supe mix.
Posted May 15, 2010 by Heather , San DiegoCharlaine Harris started out the time line of this book differently than previous Sookie Stackhouse adventures, but once it got rolling, there was no stopping how much trouble Sookie could get in to. I thoroughly enjoyed the expanding relationships Sookie encountered and the complexities of supernatural world coming to light. I appreciated the revelations and ah-ha moments, and was happy that Ms. Harris did not back track the story overly much to explain those complex relationships and happenings. This book is for the true Sookie Stackhouse fan, and I can't wait for the next one.
13 . Just OK
Posted May 14, 2010 by Kylie , Chillicothe, OhioI was really looking forward to this book....it seemed to take forever since the last installment. I am a big fan of the series, but this book seemed very short and boring. There was no real plot to the book and it never really evolved past Sookie's day to day life. The little parts of drama that were thrown in didn't seem as well though out or crucial to the overall scheme of the series as usual. I believe that I could have gone right into the next novel without wasting my time on this one.
14 . Great again, but not the best
Posted May 13, 2010 by yennajenna , Ashland, KYHarris does it again, a very good read, fast paced and exciting. Although it seemed like she pushed a little too hard to get everyone in, all the characters, weres, shifters, fae, vampires, humans, etc. But I definately liked it, not my favorite but very good and worth reading, can't wait untill the next one.
15 . A disappointment
Posted May 13, 2010 by JKRU , Cape Coral, FLI was so excited when this book came out that I purchased it the day it was released. In my opinion, this book was not focused; It jumped around a lot. I was really looking forward to some great action with Eric and Sookie, there wasn't much. It finnally started to pick up and I noticed that there were only 30 pages left. NOOOOOOO! It was just starting to finally get good and then it was over. Boooooo!
How long do we have to wait for another? Can't wait to read it. haha! I do love these books, I just want more!
16 . historic/ foundation building
Posted May 12, 2010 by Heather , Sandy Creek, NYI love the series and hate it when any of the books end. I especially enjoyed all the additional information on historical events, and the past of the characters. I do have to say I was hoping the book would have more about Sookies future than it did, wish we knew more, but again suspense... Love the idea ...
My only prayer is that I don't have to wait very long for the next few books as they are quite addicting. Thanks so much C.Harris for with out your love of writing and your skills we would be surely at a loss..
17 . UMMMM OK!!!
Posted May 11, 2010 by Lindsey , Tampa, FLWhere is the rest of this book????? It was kinda slow moving, I was not hooked on it like the other ones....I hope the next one is going to make up where this one lacked!!!
18 . Keeping up with Sookie...
Posted May 11, 2010 by LoriP , San JoseI've read the series (1-9) in the past month (buying all of them for my reader) and was looking forward to book 10! I was not disappointed! It kept along with what I've grown to expect from Charlaine Harris and the flow is wonderful as always. It's amazing to see how the characters have evolved. The only disappointment I have now is finding something else to read before book 11 comes out!
19 . Not the best of the series!
Posted May 11, 2010 by Hope , AugustaThis was probably the worst of the series...It just wasn't what I expected. Don't get me wrong, I love the series overall, but this was a low point.
20 . Charlaine Does It Again!
Posted May 08, 2010 by Sandi , ColoradoLike the other reviewer, I purchased this on the release date and finished it the next day. I am in love with this series! Sookie is, is my humble opinion, what every woman should hope to one day be like. I am so glad to see a female main character who is strong and can take care of herself as needed; but who is also all woman and knows how to let the men in her life spoil her whenever possible. I am on pins & needles waiting for the next installment!!
