Slow Start, Gripping Finish
June 02, 2010
Larsson's novel starts with a painstaking "laying of the groundwork" which reads more like a conclusion than a beginning. The book opens with a scene that would be a riveting finish to any good crime novel, and it takes a few chapters to really get a feel for what's going on. However, once he's established the premises, Larsson absolutely takes off. I couldn't put it down - the novel is at once a brilliant exploration of government conspiracy theory and a sharply drawn portrait of contemporary women's issues. Larsson's unlikely heroine is compelling in her journey toward empowerment. Bravo.

If you have read the first two, you will be standing in line to get your hands on this one! I am upset that this is the last of Stieg Larrson's work...great stuff!
