1 . Loved It
Posted May 11, 2013 by Reggie , St. Paul, MNI have enjoyed each and every book in this series. I was so looking forward to Qhuinn and Blay's story and felt the story met my expectation. I enjoyed how Blay firmly stood up for himself in the relationship. Overall a good story interacting with all the brothers and their shellans in the Black Daggerhood. It did leave me excitedly wondering which character(s) will be featured in the next installment which I am so looking forward to.
2 . Continuation of A Series
Posted April 07, 2013 by Micheale , HillsboroThis is a continuation of a popular series by j.R. Ward. This title generated some internet disscusion and you can read many reviews on the story on goodreads.com.
I like the series and happen to like all of the characters. This next installment was something I waited for, like everyone else, but I did not have any "stories" built up of my own about what was going to happen or not happen. So, this review is not about how the story should have gone, or what should have happened. It is dealing with the writing.
I felt that the novel had a nice, steady flow as far as a time line went.
The interactions of the characters was as expected. The characters are big, strong, alpha male types, so I expect very little tender, touchy, feely stuff to happen.
Predictable? In some ways yes and in others no.
Written well? Yes and no as well. The flow of the words and scene descriptions were easy to understand. However, some of the slang and current vernacular is going to date this novel and possibly be a turn off for some readers. With our current language being driven by texting and iphones, even 5 years from now, a reader may not get some of what is being said.
Overall, this is a series that has held my attention like no other. I usually only go for maybe one or two in a series and then move on. But, I like this "world" JR Ward has created and will look forward to the other stories in this series, for now.
