Before Liz Lemon, before "Weekend Update," before "Sarah Palin," Tina Fey was just a young girl with a dream: a recurring stress dream that she was being chased through a local airport by her middle-school gym teacher. She also had a dream that one day she would be a comedian on TV.
She has seen both these dreams come true.
At last, Tina Fey's story can be told. From her youthful days as a vicious nerd to her tour of duty on Saturday Night Live; from her passionately halfhearted pursuit of physical beauty to her life as a mother eating things off the floor; from her one-sided college romance to her nearly fatal honeymoon -- from the beginning of this paragraph to this final sentence.
Tina Fey reveals all, and proves what we've all suspected: you're no one until someone calls you bossy.
(Includes Special, Never-Before-Solicited Opinions on Breastfeeding, Princesses, Photoshop, the Electoral Process, and Italian Rum Cake!)
Tina Fey charts the course of her remarkable life and details her many misadventures in this hilarious audio edition of her best-selling memoir. Covering everything from her childhood and family to her days performing improv in Chicago and time at Saturday Night Live, Fey never fails to entertain. Her conversational narration is superb, her comedic timing spot-on, and her stories laugh-out-loud funny. Additionally, Fey creates a host of unique voices for the many characters with whom she crosses paths. Whether she's climbing a dangerous mountain to impress an uninterested would-be boyfriend or holding court on parenting and gender roles, Fey leaves listeners laughing and longing for more. Totally addictive and utterly enjoyable, this audio is an absolute must for fans--and just about everyone else too. A Reagan Arthur hardcover. (Apr.)

1 . Texas Longhorns
Posted July 09, 2013 by Isaias , OrlandoStrange to think, but I have some male brethren who don't fully understand women's reproductive parts, but none of them are as funny as Tina Fey describing her school's pamphlet on the matter: "The explanatory text was followed by a lot of drawings of the human reproductive system that my brain refused to memorize. (To this day, all I know is there are between two and four openings down there and that the setup inside looks vaguely like the Texas Longhorns logo.)" The whole book is full of these zingers.
2 . dust off the tv
Posted July 05, 2013 by Fatima , DenverWell now I've read Tina Fey's Bossypants, I guess I have to dust off the television and see what she was talking about. I didn't know anyone could be funny enough to excite me back to the television.
3 . breathless spasms
Posted July 03, 2013 by Tobia , MiamiI loved this book. I read it in a day and laughed myself into fitful tears and agonized breathless spasms. This is what I want when I buy a book in comedy.
4 . Couldn't put it down...
Posted May 15, 2012 by E , SLC, UTAbsolutely had to read every word. It made me get back into watching 30 Rock...I get it now! She's pretty hilarious. Read the script of the Palin/Clinton SNL sketch, then youtube it.
5 . Prepare to laugh out loud
Posted June 14, 2011 by Siren175 , Peoria, ArizonaI enjoyed every minute of this book. Tina is clever, humble, honest, articulate, charming....and absolutely hilarious! It was like many of the conversations I've had with my best girlfriends...one subject to another yet the segways just feel natural. She is a breathe of fresh air in a time filled with bad news, gritty exposures into personal lives and criminal acts. Way to go Tina! I can't wait for the next one. I hope you're already sitting in front of your computer pouring out more of the same.
6 . Read in one sitting
Posted April 19, 2011 by Janell , Deptford, NJVery funny book. Tina Fey provides us with a glimpse of her journey to becoming one of Generation X's funniest people. She is inspiring and hilarious , days later I caught my self thinking about the book and laughing all over again. Fun stuff.
7 . wow
Posted April 18, 2011 by ambergarabrandt , Joplin, MoI was a little bit worried about buying this book as I didn't know much about Tina Fey, and almost all the reviews at the time were about how much said person wanted to read the book. Why write a review when you haven't even read the book? I swore to myself that I would write a review as soon as I finished and here it is. Bossypants was fantastic! I haven't laughed so hard reading a book since.... well I don't think I ever have. I came out of this experience with a newfound love of Tina Fey, and highly recommend the book. My only complaint is that I wanted more. I wasn't ready to let her go yet, to let the book draw to a close.... if she ever writes another book- even if it's all about boiling an egg- I am buying it because I know it will be stellar.
