Catching Fire (The Hunger Games Book: #2)
Suzanne Collins continues the amazing story of Katniss Everdeen in the phenomenal Hunger Games trilogy.
Against all odds, Katniss Everdeen has won the annual Hunger Games with fellow district tribute Peeta Mellark. But it was a victory won by defiance of the Capitol and their harsh rules. Katniss and Peeta should be happy. After all, they have just won for themselves and their families a life of safety and plenty. But there are rumors of rebellion among the subjects, and Katniss and Peeta, to their horror, are the faces of that rebellion. The Capitol is angry. The Capitol wants revenge.

2 . I love the trilogy as a whole.
Posted May 19, 2012 by Abbey , TexasI truly can't pick a single book out of this series that is my favorite. I thoroughly enjoyed the whole story. I love that the author was able to write a story that was easy to read, yet kept you hooked until the very end. And she was able to accomplish this without gratuitous sexuality or crude language. While the events of the storyline were essentially unrelatable to us in this country in this day and age, the characters were easily relatable and realistic. I'll definitely look out for more reads from this author.
3 . the best of the three

4 . My Favorite!
Posted April 14, 2012 by Mrs. Odair , District 4, Panem, Victor's Village (with Finnick... yum)Okay, so ... this is my favorite.
Gotta love Finnick, seriously. He is my new favorite character. (And he stays that way until he dies in Mockingjay) He's everyone's dream man. (But he's mine!) And I like Johanna, the insane stripper, as my friends have called since they finished the book (after beginning in the fall after I read it over the summer) Yeah, Finnick and Johanna. My favorites.
I like everything about this one, the new characters, the arena, the plot line, but... something is missing. And that something is some depth to Katniss.
Seriously. she's awful to Peeta and Gale, kissing one, kissing the other, like some sick game. She lacks anything likable to me. I've never wanted to be like her, except for her being with Peeta. She's shallow and mistrustful. And then it's like 'Oh, I can't trust Finnick! He's evil -le ignoring the fact that he's been in Snow's hands- But wait!! He's wearing Haymitch's bracelet! He must be perfect!!' And so on and so forth.I do like the other characters, though, except for Gale. He is IRRITATING. And, to me, there could never be anything between Katniss and Gale. They're just to alike.
But, yes, my favorite read of the trilogy, and I would recommend this to everyone on the planet if I could.
5 . Took a while....
Posted November 24, 2011 by Audney , North ChicagoI enjoyed the first book in this series, but it took close to 100 pages before I really got into this one. Things kind-of dragged-on for a bit. Most of the events were a bit predictable, but once you get to the end you really feel the need to read #3!
