Excerpt from To Kiss a Gargoyle by Sally Painter
"Hello, sexy," she whispered, staring into his piercing look. For a brief instant, she wondered if he were in truth a wild animal instead of her sexy lover. Once set free would he turn on her like a creature from the jungle, startled by human touch? Just inches from his face, she couldn't pull away. She was actually going to touch him. After all the nights of yearning for this moment, it had arrived. Her arousal released in a rush of hot moistness that drenched her panties.
Could she join him on the column without falling to her death? She didn't dare look down again. All she needed was to brush her pussy against his hardness. It was insane yet she didn't care. Some people had foot fetishes, well, hers was a statue. His name curled over her tongue and past her lips.
"Leonardo," she whispered, tracing the air in front of him in an outline of his bold face, still not allowing herself to touch him. Wave after wave of urgent need throbbed between her legs. Her nipples ached. She longed to feel his lips sucking the erect nubs. Fire streaked to her clit. His hard, strong muscles seemed to scream for her caress. She couldn't wait any longer.
"Leonardo," she sighed, finally letting her hand flatten against his face. The contact shot an electrical current down her arm, pounding her heart into a new beat. His beat. Lion and man, joined as one. Fierce. Full of raw desire! It seized her, leaving only a single thought in its wake. Leonardo!
"You're so gorgeous." She glided her hand over his jaw and down the length of his powerful neck to a hard shoulder. Her heart swelled with emotions. If only he could talk to her. She moved behind him, brushing against him so her nipples slightly grazed the cold marble. It felt natural to mold herself into his broad shoulders, flattening her torso onto his back, dipping between the v-shape his wings formed. She longed to feel the magnificent body stand so she could enjoy him full-bodied. Trembling fingers curled around flexed arms bulging with steely muscles. He appeared ready to leap into the air with her riding his back. Any remnants of concern about her sanity fled with the feel of him beneath her. He was real. Her pulse quickened.
The marble was cool against her, but quickly warmed with the raging fire coursing through her. At long last she was touching her Leonardo. She glided up his back, tilting her pelvis so that her sex brushed against him. The contact of her hot flesh against the cool hardness of his back excited her beyond all fantasies. Frantic for more, she tugged on her skirt until only the thin netting of panty hose shielded her from the unrelenting coldness of stone. She rubbed harder, riding the urgent wave of arousal with the friction stimulating the aching need between her legs.
Yet it still wasn't enough. She needed him to awaken. She had somehow actually expected it. Emboldened by the fire scorching her tender flesh, she glanced about the hidden alcove, making sure no one watched from nearby windows. Streaks of excited expectation shook her as she slipped the pantyhose and panties down her legs, and stepped from them. Cool air snatched the skirt and blew against her, sending a rush of heated moistness against her thighs. She leaned into him. Hard. Cold.
The sensation tingled against her throbbing clit. A deep groan parted her lips and sailed over the whipping wind. She moaned louder, with the wind tearing at her. Arching her back, she pressed harder into the statue. The contact provided the friction she needed. She was possessed and ground her hips into the statue. Still she was not close enough. She spread her legs apart, and dipped her hand to splay open the plump folds of her labia, separating just enough to expose the throbbing nub, and flattened against him again.
This time the contact struck her clit with the sensation she sought. Frenzied heat surged harder and she rode the waves of jagged pleasure until her flesh softened and melted against his stone body. She longed to feel him move beneath her and take her into his arms. Running her tongue over dry lips, she moistened them as she imagined his tongue entwining with hers.
Fire lashed hotter against her. Each wave of excitement tumbled over the last until a sharp electrical wave spiked and burst in a spasm of liquid fire. She flattened against his back, riding the final pleasures pulsing through her. At long last he was hers. Drawing her arms around his neck, she relaxed with a deep sigh. It was more erotic than any fantasy she'd imagined.
"You belong to me now, Leonardo." Her lips were a breath's space from his ear. "Did you feel me come? Do you know I'm touching you? You feel so wonderful. Do you know how much I've wanted you these past years?" Tears stung her eyes. "If only you were real, I would take you home with me. Oh, Leonardo, I'd make love to you until you roared."
Absently, she wondered if she might be able to purchase the statue from the building owners. At least then she could have him whenever she desired. At that moment, she was living her fantasy, yet her heart felt as though it would break from the longing. She clamped her mouth against the sob.
"If only you were alive, my love. I need you so much!" Why hadn't he awakened? He was supposed to awaken and fly them to an isolated area where he'd make love to her--forever. Sadness gripped her and fresh tears streamed down her cheeks. She'd fallen in love with a statue of all things. The silly fantasy she'd created was over.
She was possessed. She still wanted him. It felt so right! She belonged on the ledge with him. At that moment, had she been given the choice to become a gargoyle statue like him, she'd have said yes without hesitation. Eternity with her Leonardo would be a dream come true. Excitement slipped through her at the possibility of such a dream becoming a reality. A new fantasy to ride a little longer.
"Why can't you just wake up, Leonardo? I need you! I need you to be alive!" she sobbed, rubbing her cheek against his, longing to feel his flesh against her lips, to taste him. She pressed a kiss into his cheek.
Immediately, the stone warmed beneath her lips. She jerked from him, certain her sanity had fled. The statue began to melt from marble into flesh. How could this be? Surely she was hallucinating? His facial muscles twitched. His lips puckered. Then, his eyelids blinked and he turned his head toward her.
"Oh my God!" she cried out and stepped from him, realizing too late that she had shifted away from the ledge into empty space. The scream ripped from her. Frantic, she grabbed for him, anything, but all she met was air.
"Leonardo!" she screamed, tumbling backward over the ledge. Panic squeezed another scream from her lungs as she plummeted toward the busy street several hundred feet below.
A prayer shivered past her lips. Scenes of her life and the longing for Leonardo flashed in front of her. Suddenly, steely arms wrapped around her and the sound of wings sliced the air. She looked up and Leonardo smiled down at her.
"Leonardo?" she strangled.
"I'm here, my love," he spoke and carried her back toward the ledge, only to sail straight up the full length of the high rise.
"Leonardo," she gasped and the world faded from her.
