Inexperienced college students waste hours re-reading the same material, chasing the wrong research, and hopelessly trying to cram information into their heads the night before an exam. But shrewd students know how to get organized and use their time efficiently, getting great grades without the waste. In The Shrewd Student, professional educators share their secrets to being a shrewd, effective, and successful student.

Posted December 23, 2012 by Rick and Becky Kraemer , Northern CaliforniaAs we prepared to send our children to college, we began coaching them about the changes and challenges of transitioning from high school to college academics. As authors, it eventually struck us that we should be writing down all of our discussions for use by other high school graduates.
Since Becky's brother Mark and sister-in-law Jill are both professional educators, we incorporated them into the project. We believe that every student accepted into a college or university has the gifts and experience to be successful, but some may need extra coaching in how to up-level their study skills.
We've written this booklet for those students the bright kids who want to be shrewd students.
