In Slaves of Fashion, Wilde criticizes the evils of corsetry, and in Woman's Dress, he advises women to suspend the weight and reduce the number of layers of clothing and make it more hygienic. He advises them to wear more antique dresses. Other pieces such as Costume, Phrases, and Philosophies for the Use of the Young and The American Invasion are also included in the volume.
