Her proposition . . .
London Society is harsh for a young woman with no family connections who has to work for a living. But when Daisy Merrick is sacked from yet another job, the feisty and outspoken miss comes up with a plan that could give her a future beyond her wildest dreams. There's only one problem. Her success depends on a man, the most infuriating, impossible, immovable man she's ever met. His resolution . . .
Sebastian Grant, Earl of Avermore, is England's most infamous author. Known for his notorious reputation, he is more interested in play than work, and has no intention of cooperating when Daisy shows up on his doorstep with a mad plan. The provoking, fire-haired beauty stirs his senses beyond belief, and Sebastian knows he has only one way to stop her. Seduction.

1 . Wicked Earl meets bouncy redhead
Posted August 30, 2009 by LizRN , Los Angeles, CAI loved this book. Why: The hero is human not some aristocratic cut out doll. He has survived a terrible addiction is now trying to rebuild his life. The trouble arises when he finds he can't write anymore. Prior to his addiction to cocaine, he was a well-known writer of industrial pre-WWI Britain. Now he's panicked that he can't write without the cocaine...and he "feels drained."
Along comes Daisy Merrick, redhead with a burning desire to be a published author. She thinks she is purely logical. She is hired by the Earl's editor to get a book out of him or get him sued.
Daisy takes on the challenge....and despite the verbal as well as lustful fireworks....the two find themselves in love.
It's a happily ever after with depth and a real examination of the human condition.
I loved the little quotes that begin each chapter.
