This is a true story of a young man named Joseph, who was born in Transylvania,in 1968 under communist oppression, who suffers a great deal from authorities and a chronic eye diseases, what leaves him almost blind. As his battle begins for his eye sight, soon realizes there is no help for him, only chance to escape to the west to get the much needed transplant. At the first attempt to escape Joseph is caught, arrested, badly beaten and thrown in prison. After the second attempt, risking everything Joseph makes it ti Hungary where he gets his first transplant. In Hungary he realizes that he is still in danger and escapes again to Austria. After spending eight months in refugee camp, finally Joseph arrives in New York to real freedom.
