She turned eighteen and the clock has been ticking, she signs away her rights so that she can be educated in the manner chosen for her. Was it education as she had imagined it? Apparently not for she rebels and resists him and conflict abounds as the battle of wills - and bodies - ensues. Later she comes to enjoy her education, parts of it at least but still that firery rebelliousness remains within her and surfaces at odd times. It is his task to bring her to heel and he does so in the way he knows best - with rope and the lash of a whip.
