The new Abby Abernathy is a good girl. She doesn't drink or swear, and she has the appropriate number of cardigans in her wardrobe. Abby believes she has enough distance from the darkness of her past, but when she arrives at college with her best friend, her path to a new beginning is quickly challenged by Eastern University's Walking One-Night Stand. Travis Maddox, lean, cut, and covered in tattoos, is exactly what Abby wants-and needs-to avoid. He spends his nights winning money in a floating fight ring, and his days as the ultimate college campus charmer. Intrigued by Abby's resistance to his appeal, Travis tricks her into his daily life with a simple bet. If he loses, he must remain abstinent for a month. If Abby loses, she must live in Travis's apartment for the same amount of time. Either way, Travis has no idea that he has met his match.

1 . I like it overall
Posted September 23, 2012 by stephanie , maple ridge, bcIf you are a young adult woman, or younger, You Must Read This Book. It should be your blue-print, or better yet guiding light to everything YOU SHOULD NOT DO. This may be just another love story, but the premise is so rooted in reality I shivered throughout most of it.
Travis is sexy, charming, seductive.... He threatens anyone who dares to talk, look, flirt with his Pidge (Abby), then beats them up after he "bags" her (that term is liberally used throughout this book.) His protests to her sexy dressing are lame at best, but very telling of his sense of ownership.
That said, I suggest you read this book, once, twice, however many times it takes for you to recognize the signs of obsession. And, if you find yourself on a receiving end of such "love", run as if the devil himself is after you. Chances are he is; or get a restraining order. Travis' love is unnatural and author's attempt at pointing it out by having Pidge "freak out" at Travis' intensity was one paragraph long and indeed pathetic. She decided to tackle a serious problem in today's society, romanticize it and make it OK. Ladies, let me tell you from experience what the natural, and well documented progression of this story is: next time you dress sexy, dance sexy... he won't be beating up the guys. He'll put the blame for his intense rage on YOU. See where this goes?
At the end I went back to page 1 and had to lough. The name of the book, the graphics were the most appropreate than any ever. A pretty butterfly inside a lidded glass jar. 'nuf said.
On a lighter side, this book had enough moments for me to conclude I like it overall.
