Patriots : Surviving the Coming Collapse
Part novel, part survivalist-handbook, Patriots tells of a small group of friends facing every American's worst nightmare--the total collapse of society. The stock market plummets and hyperinflation cripples commerce and then a seemingly isolated financial crisis passes the tipping point when an unprepared government fails to act. Practically overnight, the fragile institutions of democracy fall apart and every American is forced to survive on their own.
Evading mobs of desperate, out-of-control citizens who have turned Chicago into a wasteland of looting and mayhem, this novel's protagonists make their way to a shared secure ranch in the wilds of northern Idaho. Here the survival-driven group fends off vicious attacks from the outside and eventually assists in restoring order to the country. The compelling, fast-paced action-adventure novel has readers jotting notes and referencing the book's impressive index for informative survivalist tips on everything from setting up a secure shelter to treating traumatic flesh wounds.

1 . More than a good story
Posted February 01, 2010 by Arkyump , arkansasThis book started out as a how-to book and I didn't expect it to gravatate to a shoot-em-up armagedon-like storyline that both is militarily accurate and enjoyable at the same time. The preparedness of the "group" and their offering of themselves to God is totally believable in that when the government does implode, godlessness is not far behind, then you will have to make those lfe and death decisions on your own, with the help of God. Making the story believable is Mr. Rawles' literary talent. He obviously has thought the whole thing through. I applaud his skills, now the questions is: How do you get started in preparing for the armagedon?
2 . Prophetic, Practical View Of Our Future?
Posted November 02, 2009 by Paul , MilwaukeeThis book delivers just one of many possible scenarios for the likely, fast approaching economic collapse of the United States. It also clearly demonstrates the fragility of the complicated daily interdependencies that touch virtually every single part of our lives. Our society is so fragile - connected like links of a chain. Break one link, and the chain fails to function. The chaos that would result after such an incredible turn, should motivate each of us to keep a keen watch on current national and world events, and plan out whatever contingencies we deem appropriate. The Boy Scout motto "Always Be Prepared" has never been more appropriate as it is right now. This book offers some ideas on which direction to take in that regard, while offering insight into the kind of personal fortitude, faith, and grit it will take to survive.
