Julia JamesNotify me of new titles added by this author
Mills & Boon novels were Julia James’ first “grown up” books she read as a teenager, and she's been reading them ever since. She adores the Mediterranean and the English countryside in all its seasons, and is fascinated by all things historical, from castles to cottages. In between writing she enjoys walking, gardening, needlework and baking “extremely gooey chocolate cakes” and trying to stay fit! Julia lives in England with her family.
Jane PorterNotify me of new titles added by this author
Born in Visalia, California, Jane Porter is a small-town girl at heart. She loves central California's golden foothills, oak trees and the miles of farmland, rich with the sweet and heady fragrance of orange blossoms. As a little girl Jane spent hours on her bed, staring out the window, dreaming of far-off places, fearless knights, princesses and happy-ever-after endings. Her parents fed her imagination by taking her family to Europe for a year when she was thirteen. That incredible year in Europe changed Jane's life, and overseas she discovered a huge and wonderful world with different cultures and customs. She spent much of her high school and college years abroad, studying in South Africa, Japan and Ireland. South Africa remains a country of her heart, the people, the land and politics complex and heart-wrenching. Jane loved everything about Europe, as well, but felt especially passionate about Italy and those gorgeous Italian men (no wonder her very first Presents hero was Italian). With her bachelors degree from UCLA in American Studies, a program that combines American literature and American history, she's worked in sales and marketing. Later Jane earned her masters in writing from the University of San Francisco and taught junior high and high school English. She now lives in rugged Seattle, Washington, with her two young sons. She never minds a rainy day, either, because that's when she sits at her desk and writes stories about far-away places, fascinating people, and most important of all, love. Jane likes a story with a happy ending. But then, she believes we all do.

She has two children, Celia and Patrick and her passions include music, books, cooking and eating – and drifting into daydreams while working out new plots.
Melanie MilburneNotify me of new titles added by this author
It was while she was supposed to be studying for her final high school exams that Melanie Milburne read her first Mills & Boon novel. She was 17and decided right then and there she would continue reading romance novels, and not only that, she would settle for no less than a tall dark handsome hero as her future husband. Well, she's not only still reading romance but writing it as well! And the tall dark handsome hero, you ask? She fell in love with him on the second date and was secretly engaged to him within six weeks.
They moved to Scotland so he could work and study for his M.D. in surgery, and two sons later, arrived in Hobart, Tasmania-- the jewel in the Australian crown. Once their boys were safely at school, Melanie went back to university and upgraded her teaching qualifications to a bachelor's and then master's degree.
As part of her final assessment she conducted a tutorial in literary theory concentrating on the romance genre. She had the tutorial room decked out with hearts and champagne and roses and was standing at the front of the room reading a paragraph from the novel of a prominent Harlequin Mills & Boon author when the door suddenly burst open. The husband that she thought was safely tucked away in an operating theater doing what surgeons are supposed to do was actually standing there dressed in a tuxedo, his dark brown compelling gaze centered on her startled blue one. He strode purposefully across the room, hauled Melanie into his arms and kissed her deeply and passionately before setting her back down and leaving without a single word. The lecturer gave Melanie a High Distinction and her fellow students gave her jealous glares! You can see by now her pilgrimage into romance writing was more or less set!
As well as writing full-time, Melanie is also a keen athlete. She enjoys long-distance running and is a nationally ranked top-10 master's swimmer in Australia, holding several individual state records. She learned to swim as an adult, so for anyone out there who thinks they can't do something-- you can! Her motto is Don't say I can't; say I CAN TRY.
Melanie loves the pace and passion of the Harlequin Mills & Boon Presents series and hopes fans enjoy reading her stories as much as she loves writing them.
Sandra FieldNotify me of new titles added by this author
How did Sandra Field change from being a science graduate working on metal-induced rancidity of cod fillets at the Fisheries Research Board to being the author of over 50 Harlequins? When her husband joined the armed forces as a chaplain, they moved three times in the first 18 months. The last move was to Prince Edward Island. By then her children were in school; she couldn't get a job; and at the local bridge club, she kept forgetting not to trump her partner's ace.
However, Sandra had always loved to read, fascinated by the lure of being drawn into the other world of the story. So one day she bought a dozen Harlequin novels, read and analyzed them, then sat down and wrote one (she believes she's the first North American to write for Harlequin Romance).
Her first book, typed with four fingers, was published as To Trust My Love; her pseudonym was an attempt to prevent the congregation from finding out what the chaplain's wife was up to in her spare time.
She's been very fortunate for years to be able to combine a love of travel (particularly to the north--she doesn't do heat well) with her writing, by describing settings that most people will probably never visit. And there's always the challenge of making the heroine's long underwear sound romantic.
She's lived most of her life in the Maritimes of Canada, within reach of the sea. Kayaking and canoeing, hiking and gardening, listening to music and reading are all sources of great pleasure. But best of all are good friends, some going back to high-school days, and her family. She has a beautiful daughter-in-law and the two most delightful, handsome, and intelligent grandchildren in the world (of course!).
Abby Green spent her teens reading Mills & Boon romances. She then spent many years working in the Film and TV industry as an Assistant Director. One day while standing outside an actor's trailer in the rain, she thought: there has to be more than this. So she sent off a partial to Harlequin Mills & Boon. After many rewrites, they accepted her first book and an author was born. She lives in Dublin, Ireland and you can find out more here: www.abby-green.com

Julie CohenNotify me of new titles added by this author
Julie Cohen was born in the U.S.A. and brought up in the mountains of western Maine. There wasn't much going on in Maine, so she made stuff up. She spent most of her childhood with her nose in a book and wrote her first novel at age eleven, a fantasy story about a female teenage wizard. In high school, she and her best friend wrote wildly improbable romances about their favourite rock stars. At university she wrote newspaper features and a weekly cartoon strip about an Elvis look-alike with a pet squid. She spent a year studying at Cambridge University in England, and fell in love with the country and the sexy accents.
After attaining her first degree in English literature, she moved to England and researched fairies in children's literature for a postgraduate degree. She started writing funny, sexy stories in her spare time. She started writing her first Harlequin romance on a blueberry farm in Maine, and finished it on a beach in Greece. This one, and several others, collected rejection letters. Shortly after placing in the finals in the Romance Writers of America's Golden Heart contest, she sold to Harlequin Mills & Boon.
Julie lives in the south of England with her husband and her son, and still reads everything in sight. Her other hobbies include walking, travelling, listening to loud music, watching films and eating far too much popcorn. She is teased daily about her American accent. Visit her Web site and write to her at firstname.lastname@example.org.
