Recently released from jail, Blue Bowman vows revenge against Gordon Campbell, the wealthy father who abandoned his family. But when he begins to work on Campbell's horse ranch, Blue meets veterinarian and single mother Andie Lee Hart--a woman who almost lets him forget the past. Original.
Newly released from a ten-year stint in prison, vengeance-driven Blue Bowman helps a crippled wrangler with a rebellious colt and miraculously lands a job at the ranch of Gordon Campbell, one of the most powerful men in Montana. Gordon is also Blue's natural father and the man he intends to make pay for his Cherokee family's destruction. But Blue doesn't reckon on Andie Lee Hart, a vulnerable veterinarian with issues of her own. Unwillingly attracted to each other, Blue and Andie Lee find unexpected love and healing as they deal with her drug-addicted teenage son and come to terms with their respective pasts. Family relations, old secrets, and addiction are only part of this compelling story, which offers a few surprises. Although noted primarily for her historical romances featuring Native Americans, Dellin (The Captive) has done a nice job with this contemporary Western, the first in a projected trilogy. Dellin lives in Oklahoma. (c) Copyright 2010. Library Journals LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of Media Source, Inc. No redistribution permitted. All rights reserved.
