Helpful information is provided for health professionals, families, friends, survivors, and significant others. Alternative healing methods along with their evaluations and research are explored. The thought processes she used to help the mind and body heal in unison are explained. Examples have been given of listening to the body and using that input as a part of the healing process. Honest documentation of her emotions involved in her strokes is presented. Despair, hopelessness, dejection and misery are a big part of life that must be faced as consequences of stroke. Dr. Hall Garza admits that she still cries easily. The support of loved ones in overcoming emotional obstacles is a tremendous boost. Her ongoing struggle to force herself to be REAL is honestly shared. Humor is cherished, sought after, and welcomed as a necessity in the healing process.
