A guide to music theory that provides information on keys, scales, chords, etc. without burying it in mass of arcane details. The Music Theory Field Manual (great title) gives you the "what" you need in an accessible and easy to reference format, and leaves the details on "why" to the dozens of other books that tend to put me to sleep before I've found what I'm looking for.
Best of all, you don't need to read music in order to use and understand this manual, which is a huge boost for those of us who haven't learned how yet - and maybe never will.
A great introduction to music theory for the beginner and a handy reference for more experienced musicians.
I'm already looking forward to volume 2!
