As a botanist, werewolf Cole Benedict has dedicated his life to researching healing herbs to find a cure for Lycanthropy. He resists his attraction to Lily to protect her from the beast inside him. But when Lily's stalker threatens her again, he's determined to do whatever it takes to keep her safe. Even if that means embracing the instincts of his wolf.
Together they must use extraordinary gifts to catch Lily's stalker before he attacks again. But will revealing their inner-most secrets to one another destroy their growing love or save them both?

Excerpt from Ancient Blood by Barbara Edwards
A movement under the trees caught her gaze. The black wolf appeared, his golden eyes reflecting the porch light as he crossed the yard. The promised rain pattered down, silencing his approach until his wet paws thudded on the steps.
After flipping open the lock, she slipped outside. The damp air shivered over her skin. Sensing her turmoil, he pressed against her side and she tugged him inside. The relief melted her bones. She was safe. She dropped to her knees. Without conscious thought, she laid her head on his furred shoulder and cried.
For the first time since the stalker found her, she let herself go. Her nose was clogged and her eyes swollen before she realized his arms were around her, her face against his chest. His hand stroked her spine gently as he murmured soothing words.
"I'm so sorry," she mumbled. "I didn't mean to fall apart." Unable to resist, she kissed the heated skin under her mouth. A low growl rumbled from deep in his chest.
