Download eBooks on your PC

How to get started

  1. Download the new eBook Library 3.0

    Visit the Download Software page to download and install the PC or Macintosh® version of the eBook Library 3.0 (eBL) software to your computer.

    Set up your eBook Store account

    Launch the eBL* software (icon shown above) from your desktop and click 'Register' on the top navigation menu. You will go through an easy four step process to create an account.

    *You must use the eBook Library software and create an account to purchase, download, and transfer eBooks

  3. Shop the eBook Store for your favorite eBooks

    If you are not already signed in, launch the eBL software from your desktop and sign into your account. Browse the eBook Store or search for your favorite eBooks and add them to your shopping cart.

  4. Purchase and download your eBooks to read on your PC or Mac

    Your purchased eBooks will automatically download to your PC or Mac. Once you receive the 'Download complete' message, click on the 'Library' heading in the left menu to view the eBooks in your library and read them on your computer.

Transfer eBooks to your Reader

Take your eBooks to go

  1. Connect your Sony® Reader™ to your computer

    Launch the eBook Library (eBL) software and connect your Sony Reader digital book to your PC or Mac computer using the USB cable included with your Reader.

  2. Authorize your Sony Reader to your eBook Store account

    If you already have an eBook Store account, you will be prompted to sign in; otherwise, you will be prompted to create one. Once you are signed in, follow the steps to authorize your Sony Reader digital book to your account.

  3. Transfer your eBooks to your Sony Reader digital book

    Just drag the title or icon of your eBook from your personal Library to the 'Reader' icon located in the left menu of the eBL software.

  4. Manage your eBooks on your Sony Reader digital book

    To view and manage the eBooks on your Sony Reader digital book, click on the 'Reader' icon in the left menu of the eBL software.

Publish your eBook

  1. Submit your publisher and book information

    Sign up now to have your books offered in The eBook Store from Sony. Just go to the Publisher Portal and fill out the Publisher info form.

  2. We will notify you for follow-up

    We will send you an email when we launch our upcoming convenient self-publishing tools as part of The eBook Store Publisher Portal.
