Author Information

Bio of Tessa Radley

Tessa sold her first Silhouette Desire book after an online pitch on the eHarlequin.com Web site. "It was both scary and exciting, a bit like riding a roller coaster," says Tessa. "Once it started, everything happened so fast." Several sales followed in quick succession. A keen reader since childhood, Tessa is thrilled to join the author community here at eHarlequin.com. "It took a while to get over the unreality of it all, but it finally started to sink in. There's nothing more satisfying than working on a new story. I love getting to know a whole new set of characters and finding out what they want from life."There's one piece of advice that Tessa credits with getting her through the publication process. At the first weekend writing course she had ever attended, romance author Robyn Donald said that, to be published, a writer needed three things: talent (which hard work could polish), perseverance and luck. That stuck in Tessa's mind, and so her advice to would-be authors now is: "Hold on to your dream. Keep writing and never give up." You can contact Tessa though her Web site at www.tessaradley.com. And while you're there, don't forget to check out the fun page and enter Tessa's latest contest. Or you can come read with Tessa over at Team Novelchicks, part of the eHarlequin.com 2007 10,000 Book Challenge.

Bio of Emilie Rose

Emilie lives in her native North Carolina with her four sons and two adopted mutts. Her love for romance novels developed when she was twelve years old and her mother hid them under sofa cushions each time Emilie entered the room. Who wouldn't be curious and sneak a peek? Emilie grew up riding and showing horses and chasing after her older brothers. More often than not, she had to bribe her way into being included. Her hobbies include riding her Harley, gardening, cooking (especially baking cheesecake) and anything cowboy. Emilie's a country music fan because there's an entire book in nearly every song. She's also a devoted baseball fan and can often be found at a Durham Bulls game during the season. A sucker for any stray, Emilie has been known to bring home orphaned squirrels, bunnies and kittens, much to her sons' delight. She is a lover of anything cute and fuzzy, which explains the incredible variety of pets her children have had. Thanks to her sons and older brothers, she's also tolerant of the not-so-cute-and-fuzzy reptile pets. Writing is her third (and hopefully her last) career. She has managed a medical office and ran a home day care, neither of which offers half as much satisfaction as plotting happy endings. Letters can be mailed to Emilie at P.O. Box 20145, Raleigh, NC, 27619, or via e-mail to EmilieRoseC@aol.com.

Bio of Katherine Garbera

Katherine enjoys the writing process too much to give it up and can't think of anything she'd rather do, except maybe take Jim Lipton's job on Inside the Actor's Studio. Each book is a chance to explore another facet of human behavior, and she's always most excited about the newest project she's working on. Writing for Silhouette Desire has been a dream come true for her in many ways! She is married to the man she met in Fantasyland, and they live in central Florida with their two children. Writers can contact her at Kathy@katherinegarbera.com.

Bio of Sara Orwig

With no room for the cars in the garage because of books, Sara Orwig ' s lifelong love of reading carried over into writing. Sara spent the first part of her life reading and resting up for the second part where she has earned a master ' s in English, become a mother of three and a writer, taught English and has been Writer ' in ' Residence at the University of Central Oklahoma. Life was hectic enough that she has in haste placed the phone in the fridge and boiled eggs until they exploded. Cooking became limited to dishes that had four ingredients or less or came out of a can. Clothes have been left long enough at the cleaners that they have been sold. Ditto, shoes. Balancing demands of a family and writing, and a dog and cat that wanted to eat regularly, Sara has written seventy ' five books that have been translated in twenty ' three languages. She has over two ' hundred foreign editions. A charter inductee into the Oklahoma Professional Writer ' s Hall of Fame, Sara has won the Oklahoma University Award for Oklahoma Writer of the Year. She has twice been winner of the Oklahoma Novel of the Year Award by the Oklahoma Writers Federation. Her bestsellers have been on the U.S.A. TODAY Bestseller List, as well as Waldenbooks ' and B. Dalton ' s bestseller lists. She is winner of six Romantic Times awards, including Romantic Times Career Achievement Award for Contemporary Fiction. This mother of three who has five grandchildren and the original, patient husband, has loved the world of writing and everything it includes. Book seventy ' five is as magical as book one.

Bio of Yvonne Lindsay

New Zealand born to Dutch immigrant parents, Yvonne Lindsay always had a deep fascination with the written word (when she wasn't daydreaming!). An avid reader, Yvonne was introduced to the joy of romance books at the age of thirteen by an elderly neighbour. At the age of fifteen, totally inspired by the books she'd read, she tried her hand at her first romance novel (an abysmal attempt which still remains shrouded in dust, somewhere!). After many scribblings, years, secretarial and sales rep jobs, marriage to her blind date hero and two kids later, Yvonne heard the wonderful Harlequin Mills & Boon author Susan Napier speak at a local writer's group. She mentioned Romance Writers of New Zealand and its contact details. At first Yvonne couldn't believe there was a group for people like her but after about a year she plucked up the courage to join RWNZ and spent several years working on the RWNZ committee. For Yvonne, the sheer bliss of meeting with other people with the same dreams and aspirations was indescribable. Eventually she learned that to really be a writer you had to actually finish a book, so she did and won a few awards along the way, including the Romance Writers of Australia 1999 Emma Darcy Award and the Romance Writers of New Zealand 2004 Clendon Award. After thirteen years of submissions and rejections, Yvonne sold a Silhouette Desire story in 2005 a line she's always loved to read and one she's genuinely thrilled to be a part of.

Bio of Jennifer Lewis

Jennifer Lewis has been dreaming up stories for as long as she can remember, and is thrilled to be able to share them with readers. She has lived on both sides of the Atlantic and worked in media and the arts before she grew bold enough to put pen to paper. Happily settled in New York with her family, she would love to hear from readers at jen@jen-lewis.com.
