Author Information

Bio of Merline Lovelace

Daughter of a career air force veteran, Merline Lovelace grew up at bases all over the world. Living in Newfoundland and France and almost half of the fifty states as a child sparked a lifelong love of travel she continues to indulge to this day. A Woodrow Wilson scholar, she graduated magna cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa, from Ripon College, WI, with honors in German and Russian. She also studied Mandarin Chinese at Princeton University and Middlebury College, VT; earned a masters from Troy State University, AL; and attended Harvard's Kennedy School of Government. During her twenty-three year military career, Colonel Lovelace served tours in Taiwan, in Vietnam, and at the Pentagon with the Joint Chiefs of Staff. She commanded Eglin Air Force Base, the biggest and best base in the air force, and is a distinguished graduate of Squadron Officers' School, the Armed Forces Staff College and the Air War College. Her many military awards and decorations include the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, the Air Force Legion of Merit with oak leaf cluster and the Bronze Star. When she hung up her uniform for the last time, Colonel Lovelace decided to combine her love of adventure with a flair for storytelling, basing many of her tales on her experiences in the service. Since then, she's produced one action-packed sizzler after another. She now has sixty published novels to her credit, many of which have made USA TODAY and Waldenbooks bestseller lists. Over eight million copies of her works are in print in thirty countries. Merline's novels have won numerous honors, including the Romance Writers of America's prestigious RITA Award -- the Oscar of the publishing world. She's also very proud of the fact that the University of Oklahoma chose her as the 1998 Oklahoma Writer of the Year, adding her name to a roster of literary luminaries that includes Louis L'Amour and Tony Hillerman. Married for more than thirty-five years to the handsome hero she met her second day in the air force, Merline enjoys golf, travel and long, lively dinners with friends and family.

Bio of Mary McBride

MARY MYERS, also known as Mary McBride, is a native of St. Louis, MO, where she lives with her marathon-running husband. A full-time writer, Mary has written 14 books for Harlequin and Silhouette. STILL MR. & MRS. will be her first mainstream title.

Bio of Emilie Rose

Emilie lives in her native North Carolina with her four sons and two adopted mutts. Her love for romance novels developed when she was twelve years old and her mother hid them under sofa cushions each time Emilie entered the room. Who wouldn't be curious and sneak a peek? Emilie grew up riding and showing horses and chasing after her older brothers. More often than not, she had to bribe her way into being included. Her hobbies include riding her Harley, gardening, cooking (especially baking cheesecake) and anything cowboy. Emilie's a country music fan because there's an entire book in nearly every song. She's also a devoted baseball fan and can often be found at a Durham Bulls game during the season. A sucker for any stray, Emilie has been known to bring home orphaned squirrels, bunnies and kittens, much to her sons' delight. She is a lover of anything cute and fuzzy, which explains the incredible variety of pets her children have had. Thanks to her sons and older brothers, she's also tolerant of the not-so-cute-and-fuzzy reptile pets. Writing is her third (and hopefully her last) career. She has managed a medical office and ran a home day care, neither of which offers half as much satisfaction as plotting happy endings. Letters can be mailed to Emilie at P.O. Box 20145, Raleigh, NC, 27619, or via e-mail to EmilieRoseC@aol.com.

Bio of Charlene Sands

Storytelling has always been a part of Charlene Sands's life. As a young girl, she remembers sitting with her father in the evenings asking him to tell her a story. His imagination and flare for the dramatic always entertained and had her coming back for more. Later she began reading his written word; journals and romantic poetry that he'd penned for the family, and those words inspired her to take the writing plunge. Charlene has always read romance ý grand adventures where the hero and heroine traversed rugged ground, beating insurmountable odds to finally find the path to true love. Books filled her life, and her list of favorite authors kept growing. When she finally mustered the courage to face the computer head-on and write, she felt an immediate kinship to those talented authors. Since she fell in love and married her high school sweetheart, she is definitely a romance author who believes in happy endings and writes love stories that warm the heart. She began her writing journey in 1995 and sold her first novel in 1998, appropriately named Chance in a Million. To date, she has sold sixteen books and counting, writing both Silhouette Desire and Harlequin Historical novels. Presently, she heads the Ask an Author program for the Orange County Chapter of RWA where she is proudly an active member. Bio of Robyn Grady

One Christmas long ago, Robyn Grady received a book from her big sister and immediately fell in love with Cinderella. Sprinklings of magic, deepest wishes come true--she was hooked! Picture books with glass slippers later gave way to romance novels. When she was older, she wanted to write one. In junior high, however, Robyn hit a stumbling block--a disheartening grade of one out of ten for a book review. Confused and hurt, she asked her one-hundred-and-thirty-year-old English teacher why she received such a low mark. The wizened schoolmarm sniffed, "You obviously had a senior do it for you." Thankfully Robyn's business teacher was a honey. Following a fifteen-year career behind the scenes in television, Robyn knew the time was right to pursue her dream of becoming a published author. With thirteen contest finals in 2006, she was taken on by a New York agent and sold in a matter of weeks, first to Silhouette Desire, then Modern Heat (Presents) with a two book deal. She is currently writing her fifth manuscript and looking forward to her first online read appearing on eHarlequin, her favorite cyber place to hang out. Robyn lives with her own modern-day hero on Australia's Sunshine Coast with their three little princesses, as well as two poodles and a cat called Tinkie. She has majors in English literature and psychology and loves new shoes, worn jeans, visits to the theatre and lunches at picturesque Moffat Beach with her writer friends.

Bio of Tessa Radley

Tessa sold her first Silhouette Desire book after an online pitch on the eHarlequin.com Web site. "It was both scary and exciting, a bit like riding a roller coaster," says Tessa. "Once it started, everything happened so fast." Several sales followed in quick succession. A keen reader since childhood, Tessa is thrilled to join the author community here at eHarlequin.com. "It took a while to get over the unreality of it all, but it finally started to sink in. There's nothing more satisfying than working on a new story. I love getting to know a whole new set of characters and finding out what they want from life."There's one piece of advice that Tessa credits with getting her through the publication process. At the first weekend writing course she had ever attended, romance author Robyn Donald said that, to be published, a writer needed three things: talent (which hard work could polish), perseverance and luck. That stuck in Tessa's mind, and so her advice to would-be authors now is: "Hold on to your dream. Keep writing and never give up." You can contact Tessa though her Web site at www.tessaradley.com. And while you're there, don't forget to check out the fun page and enter Tessa's latest contest.
