Author Information
Bio of Karen Anders
Karen was a bibliophile at a young age. While other children were dragging around well-worn and well-loved blankets and teddy bears, Karen was dragging around books. In all shapes, sizes and colors, they were her constant companions. It's no wonder that she is now writing her own books. Karen read her first romance novel, The Princess Bride by William Goldman, in high school. After reading about Buttercup and her love, Karen was hooked, and moved on to The Sheik, a well-worn copy that was given to her by her Valentino-loving grandmother. These books opened up the world of true love to Karen, bringing with it all the excitement, joy and heartache contained in the human heart. Karen found out that romance writers know how to make love grow. Coming from the conservative state of Vermont, it surprised Karen that she loved creating hot, sexy heroes, and the strong women who tame them. But beneath all that conservatism beat the heart of a true rebel! Karen has escaped to culturally diverse Northern Virginia and is doing her best to raise two daughters, each a rebel in their own right. Between her roles as an administrative assistant for a university dean and single working mother, it's an adventure for Karen to find time to get in a few hours of writing amidst the mundane chores and reigning chaos of everyday life. Karen asks readers to hook themselves to her bandwagon and hopes they enjoy reading her stories as much as she enjoys writing them. But she suggests you don't drag them around--it's murder on the covers
Bio of Stephanie Bond
Stephanie Bond was seven years deep into a computer career and pursuing a master's degree at night when an instructor remarked she had a flair for writing and encouraged her to submit to academic journals. Once the seed was planted, however, Stephanie immediately turned to creating romance fiction in her spare time. "I never saw myself as a comedy writer, until a Harlequin editor asked if I could write comedy. I lied and said not only did I write comedy, but I had a great idea for a book she might be interested in, and shot her an idea from the top of my head. When she said she liked it, I told her I had three chapters finished to send her right away. Then I went home and wrote like a madwoman. That book was my first Harlequin comedy, Irresistible." Harlequin purchased Irresistible from Stephanie in the fall of 1995 for their Love and Laughter line. In another two years, she left her computer career to write full-time. She now writes for the Harlequin Temptation and Harlequin Blaze lines, having gained notoriety for her spicy romantic comedies, such as Too Hot to Sleep and It Takes a Rebel.
Bio of Jacquie D'Alessandro
Jacquie D'Alessandro grew up on Long Island and fell in love with romance at an early age. She dreamed of being swept away by a dashing rogue riding a spirited stallion. When her hero finally showed up, he was dressed in jeans and driving a Volkswagen, but she recognized him anyway. They married after they both graduated from Hofstra University, and are now living their happily-ever-after in Atlanta, Georgia, along with their very bright and active eight-year-old son, who is a dashing rogue in the making. Red Roses Mean Love is Jacquie's first book. She is currently working on her next historical romance for Dell.
Bio of Jennifer Labrecque
Jennifer LaBrecque grew up with a passion for reading. In fourth grade, she wrote a short story for a class assignment. The teacher swore it moved her to tears. She also fast gained a reputation as a class clown in school. She had set her course. Although, Jennifer began college on a journalism scholarship, she graduated with a degree in marketing. She went on to work in the buying department of an international athletic footwear retailer. However, what she loved most about that job was regaling her co-workers with funny stories in the break room. Following a stint as a freelance writer, proofreader, and public relations consultant, Jennifer couldn?t ignore the obvious. She began to write romance. Today, Jennifer juggles her inquisitive, delightful daughter, the pest control company which she co-owns with her heroic husband, four bad cats, a cherished dog, and writing romantic comedy. In her spare time, reading remains a passion, as does hiking, and talking.
