Overview

Mars is failing, and nobody seems to know why the gods are giving up on mankind. The Church continues its rituals celebrating the long-ago arrival of humans in divine pods, and the Dukes in the highlands continue plotting to take over the world.

Brother Farr, a humble monk of Mars the Divine, is falsely accused of a terrible crime. He is thrust from the safety of his monastery into an adventure that spans not only the dangerous deserts and mountains of Mars. He finds a doorway to the stars. Together with two military priestesses, Farr retraces the steps of the long-lost alien race that built the Time Train system in the Temporale.

Eons ago, Mars had oceans and a climate. The oceans disappeared, and the atmosphere evaporated. Farr discovers the reasons why, and makes it his ultimate quest to bring the truth home to his disbelieving fellow marskind.

The knowledge that Farr brings back home, at great danger to himself and the world, covers not only the destruction millennia ago of Earth civilization, but the fate of the Martian oceans. This understanding will either kill Farr or save his civilization.
