Bio of Joe Navarro

For 25 years, Joe Navarro worked as an FBI special agent in the area of counterintelligence and behavioral assessment. A founding member of the National Security Division's Behavioral Analysis Program, he is on the adjunct faculty at Saint Leo University, the Institute for Intergovernmental Research andremains a consultant to the intelligence community. Joe has appeared on Fox News, ABC News, The Today Show, CNN, The Early Show on CBS, Hardball with Chris Mathews, and NPR Radio, as well as other media outlets, on topics as varied as interviewing, terrorism, and body language. As one of the leading experts in the world on nonverbal communication, Joe has shared his unique knowledge of human behavior with the intelligence community as well as the medical professions, banking institutions, and the insurance industry worldwide. A much sought-after lecturer, Mr. Navarro brings together his academic background, scientific research, and practical experience catching spies to the art of observing and interpreting human behavior.

Bio of Marvin Karlins

MARVIN KARLINS received his B.A. degree from the University of Minnesota (Phi Beta Kappa and Summa Cum Laude) and his Ph.D. in Psychology from Princeton University. He is the author of 23 books and over 200 articles in professional, academic and popular journals. In addition to his writing activities, Professor Karlins has been interviewed on radio and television talk shows worldwide and also served as an international consultant to major companies, focusing his efforts in the aviation industry. His major research interests include: (1) time management; (2) leadership; (3) personal motivation; (4) Crew Resource Management in aviation; (5) the psychology of gambling and (6) aging. Dr. Karlins is Senior Full Professor of Management in the College of Business at the University of South Florida.
