Overview
After one of the most harrowing weeks of Henry Parker's life, night has finally come. Settled in with Amanda Davies, he sleeps before preparing to chase a story alongside his mentor, Jack O'Donnell. Meanwhile Jack sits on the other side of town, fresh out of rehab, hoping to salvage a once-great career derailed by public humiliation. This is Jack's last chance to leave his mark. Elsewhere in the city, two killers are on the move. They are brutal, calculating, and after tonight their decade's long plan will come to fruition. But before the morning comes they have a few stops to make...THE HUNTERS: The thrilling lead-in to THE DARKNESS.

a night in the life of HenryPosted March 20, 2010 by OMac, Las Vegas
Unlike the other reviewers, I took the time to read the author's comments about what this book was, a night in the life of Henry Parker. Jason Pinter explained that it was a night in between two of his books. It was good enough I went and bought and read all of them, re-reading this one where it fit in. As a free book it does just what it is meant to do, give you a taste and then you can decide if you are interested enough to delve deeper and purchase the rest of the books. I like the journalist search Henry does for the truth, all the books are easy and interesting reads that caputured my interest from the first to last word. I recomment this and all his others. -

A Man's BookPosted March 15, 2010 by kw, LaGrange GA
I understood that this book would just be a teaser, but I'm interested in different authors. I'm glad it was free and only 6 chapters. I love a good who-done-it and people who can get redemption for past sins, but I know Mr. Pinter will not be an author I will buy. I was totally unimpressed, too brutal just in the few chapters I read. I honestly could see where it might appeal to a man, but it sure didn't appeal to this female bookworm.
