  Jane Feather's earlier romances are the best! This one takes place in 19th century Afghanistan where a British soldier meets an Englishwoman in a Khan's harem! He becomes obsessed with saving her and having her. It seems like it could be cliche, but it's not. The sensuality is not over the top (this was written in the 90s), and there's even some humor. I love historicals, but get bored with the same-old London settings, so this is a great change and so much more exciting!
