Author Information

Bio of Jamie Sobrato

Golden Heart Award winning author Jamie Sobrato fell in love with the romance genre at an early age, when she used to sneak her mother's romance novels off the shelves to read during summer vacations. She'd decided by the time she was in the seventh grade that she wanted to be a writer, but in spite of those early ambitions, she pursued a career teaching high school English before she turned to writing. It quickly became clear to Jamie that she wasn't cut out for teaching high school, so with much support and encouragement from her husband, she began writing her first romance novel. After five years and more than a few rejection letters, she made her first sales to the Harlequin Temptation and Harlequin Blaze lines, fulfilling her lifelong dream. Jamie now spends her days writing fun, sexy romances, and she can't imagine a better job in the world. Originally from Louisville, Kentucky, Jamie is married to her own hunky romance hero, and they are the exhausted parents of two young children. They live wherever her husband's army career takes them, currently calling the Southern California desert their home. On the rare occasions when she's not writing or chasing a toddler, Jamie enjoys reading, bargain shopping, eating chocolate and going jogging to burn off chocolate calories.

She has been nominated for several Romantic Times Reviewers' Choice Awards, as well as a prestigious RITA award, Romance Writers of America's highest award of excellence. Her books have been featured in several major magazines, including Better Homes & Gardens and Glamour, and her novel Sometimes Naughty, Sometimes Nice was a Cosmopolitan magazine book club pick. She lives deep in the heart of the Texas Hill Country with her husband and their young children. You can visit Kim on-line at www.kimberlyraye.com or at http://www.myspace.com/kimberlyrayebooks

Bio of Tori Carrington

Nicknamed the dynamic duo, the husband-and-wife writing team of Lori and Tony Karayianni began writing together in 1984, a scant 10 months after they threw caution to the wind and shamelessly moved in together. Twisting the old adage "Life is stranger than fiction," they describe their lives as being "better than fiction."While their backgrounds couldn't be more different--Tony was born near Olympia, Greece, and raised in Athens, while Lori is a Midwestern native of Toledo, Ohio--they credit their successful test run and love for each other for leading them to the altar in 1987, and point to their love for romance and travel for leading them to writing. They take great pleasure in constantly redefining exactly what constitutes "and they lived happily ever after" in both their writing and their personal lives. In their books you'll see Tony's keen eye for plotting and hunger for adventure, and Lori's love for vivid characters and the fundamental ties that bind us all.Under their pen name Tori Carrington, Lori and Tony hit the ground running with their first book for Harlequin Temptation, Constant Craving, in January 1999 and they show no sign of slowing anytime soon. Their own five book miniseries, The Magnificent McCoy Men, launched in July 1999 with License to Thrill, followed by the second book The P.I. Who Loves Her in March 2000. The third book in the series, For Her Eyes Only, hits stores in July 2000, while the fourth, You Only Love Once<, is scheduled for release in March 2001. The miniseries wraps up with the final book, Never Say Never, in the Fall of 2001.In addition to the rave reviews Lori and Tony regularly receive for their work, their first book, Constant Craving, was a finalist in the Best First Book category for the 1999 Golden Quill Award, and it along with License to Thrill have been given the nomination nod for Best First Book and Best Harlequin Temptation in the 1999 Romantic Times Reviewers' Choice Awards. License to Thrill has also earned a finalist spot for Best Short Series Contemporary in the prestigious Holt Medallion Awards. The writers point out that they'd be outrageously happy if this was all that was going on in their lives, but the truth is they have other news to share on both the personal and professional front. They're thrilled to report that they'll make their Silhouette Special Edition debut in November 2000 with their much-loved book, Just Eight Months Old..., and that Harlequin has signed them up to write not one but two books for the new Blaze series set to launch in 2001.They also share that with these successes they'll finally be able to begin building their dream vacation home--on the little piece of heaven they own 35 kilometers north of Athens, Greece--hopefully sometime later this year. That is if they can find the time to oversee the arrangements!Lori and Tony and their alter ego Tori Carrington would love to hear from you! Write them all at P.O. Box 12271, Toledo, OH 43612. Or visit them at their ever-changing web site at www.temptationauthors.com/tori where you can learn even more about them, their books, thumb through treasured photographs, and enter fun drawings!

Bio of Cindi Myers

Cindi believes in love at first sight, good chocolate, cold champagne, that people who don't like animals can't be trusted, and that God obviously has a sense of humor. She also believes in writing fun, sexy romances about people she hopes readers will fall in love with. Blessed with an overactive imagination and a love of reading, Cindi wrote her first story at age eight about the family's Siamese cat. At age 12 she submitted her first manuscript, hand-written and illustrated with crayon drawings, to Little, Brown and Company. She received a very kind rejection letter advising her to study hard and keep working and one day she might be a real writer. In addition to writing, Cindi enjoys reading, quilting, gardening, hiking, and downhill skiing. She lives in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado with her husband, who she met on a blind date and agreed to marry six weeks later, and three spoiled dogs. Cindi loves to hear from readers. Email her at Cmyers1@aol.com.

Bio of Rhonda Nelson

Rhonda can't remember when she hasn't had her nose buried in a book, and most likely, her husband can't, either. Though she took several creative writing courses in college, she never considered a career in writing until her mother pointed out as mothers are everlastingly wont to do that she should give it a try. Thus, after giving up her dream of becoming an intergalactic princess or a mermaid it was a toss up because both are so cool an author was born! (Thank you, Momma.) Rhonda married her very own hero many moons ago, and she and her family make their home in a small town in northern Alabama. Between volunteering at her children's school (she's practicing a new word called no) and the typical glamorous duties of a domestic goddess (does it ever end?), she escapes into her office where it's safe to talk to the voices in her head, to tell their stories, and hopefully to entertain her readers. If you like a little giggle amid the sizzle, then her books just might be for you.

Bio of Jill Monroe

Jill Monroe's grandparents firmly believed their grandkids should experience the satisfaction of hard work by harvesting potatoes in 100-degree weather. In fact, Jill's grandma felt it was her personal duty to pass along the fading arts of canning, sewing and keeping house to her only granddaughter. While Jill didn't "take to" canning or sewing OR, let's face it, cleaning, she did pick up her grandparents' other favorite pastime reading. During the hottest time of those long summer days, Jill's grandma and great-aunts read and discussed their favorite romance novels. It wasn't long before Jill joined in the conversation. No one is more proud of Jill's first book than her grandma and great-aunts. While in college, when asked to name a goal, Jill would answer to write a romance novel. A reunion didn't pass without a friend asking if she'd ever written that book. Now Jill can scream, "YES!" (often with leaps and pom-poms). After various careers, including driving a van of 14 college students cross-country, breaking up fights and being one of several to interview Jesse Jackson for a local radio station, Jill happily settles behind the computer and writes the kind of stories she hopes people will enjoy reading on those long, hot days of summer. Or to heat up the slow, cold nights of winter!
