Fang: A Maximum Ride Novel

Overview

Being a kid with wings--constantly on the run--has never been easy, and Max and her flock are getting tenser than ever. First, on a trip to Africa, they meet a mysterious billionaire whose intense scrutiny of the Flock makes her fear the worst. Then, a cryptic message from a young girl arrives, warning them "The sky will fall." And as if an impending apocalypse weren't bad enough, canny birdkid Angel makes a dire prophecy about Max's soul mate: Fang will be the first to die. Max's desperate desire to protect Fang brings the two closer than ever.

Author Information

James Patterson

In January, 2010, The New York Times Magazine featured James Patterson on its cover and hailed him as having "transformed book publishing." Time magazine named him "The Man Who Can't Miss," and he is a two-time Children's Choice Book Award "Author of the Year" nominee, a designation decided on by more than 15,000 children and teen readers.

In the past three years, James Patterson has sold more books than any other author (according to Bookscan), and in total, James's books have sold an estimated 205 million copies worldwide. Since 2006, one out of every seventeen hardcover fiction books sold was a Patterson title. He is the first author to have #1 new titles simultaneously on The New York Times adult and children's bestsellers lists and is the only author to have five new hardcover novels debut at #1 on the list in one year -- a record-breaking feat he's accomplished every year since 2005. To date, James Patterson has had nineteen consecutive #1 New York Times bestselling novels, and holds the New York Times record for most Hardcover Fiction bestselling titles by a single author (63 total), which is also a Guinness World Record.

  • 7.4 stars out of 5Fang is a douche bag...so why do i think Max belongs with him?

This was a totally awesome book, to be honest. However, as many people have said before me, Max just isn't the same. I know she's a girl (that's obvious) but she's not Max. Max was a totally beat the crap out of every single bad guy she sees kind of person when she first started. Now she's kind of like 'oh well maybe we should listen to them before we stop them from blowing up the whole freaking world!'. And who's fault is that? Dark and goo-goo eyed Fang. Ewwww.

Also the Fang and Max thing. Sort of out of the blue but I totally called it in the first book. Tall, dark, FREAKING WINGED, and supposedly handsome? Who (besides me, Iggy is the best) wouldn't want to be with that? But Fang is still a total douche bag. What makes him think that he can go make out with whoever he wants then expect Max to welcome him back with open arms? And why does Max?

I think there should be a little more conflit between the two. What is that like his super power? Win Max over no matter how big of a jerk i am? Sooooo dumb. However, Max should NOT be with Dylan. I just think Fang should clean up his act a little.

In this book Patterson gives you a totally different side of Max that no one thought even exhisted. It's a little scary to tell you the truth. I miss Max. This book was good however, it truly showed some very important Max and Fang stuff. However can we get "Get up or I swear I'll kick your skinny, white --- to next week!" Max back?

Let me start off by saying this is one of the best books I have ever read. This addition to the Maximum Ride family of books, is the kind of story that will have you at the edge of you set. And very disapointed when you have to put it down. This super griping story of the biloved misfits will have you laughing, and crying until the end. This is yet another of example of James Pattersons brilliant writing. If you have been seraching for book that will put into the story this is it. I highly recommend it.

This book was great and anyone who doesn't think so needs to rethink there opinion and come up with the right one. Maximum Ride iis one of a kind series and because it has some science thrown in you actually learn something. It ROCKS!!!
