Author Information
Bio of Helen Brooks
Helen Brooks was born and educated in Northampton, England, where she still lives today with her husband and family. Although having enjoyed some wonderful holidays abroad she has never been tempted to live anywhere else, although she rather likes the idea of a holiday home close to the sea one day. Helen met her husband at the age of 16 and 35 years later the magic is still there. They have three lovely children, Cara, Faye, and Benjamin, and have always had a menagerie of animals in the house, which at the present is confined to two endearing and very comical dogs who would make a great double act on TV! The children, friends, and pets all keep the house buzzing and the food cupboards empty but Helen wouldn ' t have it any other way. Helen began writing in 1990 as she approached that milestone of a birthday ' 40! She realized her two teenage ambitions (writing a novel and learning to drive) had been lost amid babies and hectic family life, so set about resurrecting then. Her first novel was for Harlequin Mills and Boon and was accepted after one rewrite, and she passed her driving test (the former was a joy and the latter an unmitigated nightmare!) She has just finished her 38th novel for Harlequin as well as several sagas. Being a committed Christian and fervent animal lover Helen finds spare time is always at a premium, but long walks in the countryside with her husband and dogs, meals out followed by the cinema or theater, reading, swimming, and having friends over for dinner are all fitted in somehow. She also enjoys sitting in her wonderfully therapeutic, rambling old garden in the sun with a glass of red wine, (under the guise of resting while thinking of course!)

Bio of Kate Hewitt
Kate Hewitt discovered her first Mills & Boon romance on a trip to England when she was thirteen, and she's continued to read them ever since. She wrote her first story at the age of five, simply because her older brother had written one and she thought she could do it too. That story was one sentence long--fortunately, they've become a bit more detailed as she's grown older. She studied drama in college and shortly after graduation moved to New York City to pursue a career in theatre. This was derailed by something far better--meeting the man of her dreams who happened also to be her older brother's childhood friend. Ten days after their wedding they moved to England, where Kate worked a variety of different jobs--drama teacher, editorial assistant, youth worker, secretary, and finally mother. When her oldest daughter was one year old, she sold her first short story to a British magazine The People's Friend. Since then she has sold many stories and serials but writing romance remains her first love--of course! Besides writing, she enjoys reading, traveling, and learning to knit--it's an ongoing process and she's made a lot of scarves. After living in England for six years, she now resides in Connecticut with her husband, an Anglican minister, her three young children, and the possibility of one day getting a dog.
Bio of Cathy Williams
Cathy was born in the West Indies and has been writing Mills & Boon romances for some 11 years. She is a great believer in the power of perseverance as she had never written anything before (apart from school essays a lifetime ago!), and from the starting point of zero has now fulfilled her ambition to pursue this most enjoyable of careers. She would encourage any would-be writer to have faith and go for it! She loves the beautiful Warwickshire countryside with her husband and three children, Charlotte, Olivia, and Emma. When not writing she is hard-pressed to find a moment's free time in between the millions of household chores, not to mention being a one-woman taxi service for her daughter's never-ending social lives. She derives inspiration from the hot, lazy, tropical island of Trinidad (where she was born), from the peaceful countryside of middle England and, of course, from her many friends, who are a rich source of plots and are particularly garrulous when it comes to describing Mills & Boon heroes. It would seem, from their complaints, that tall, dark, and charismatic men are way too few and far between! Her hope is to continue writing romance fiction and providing those eternal tales of love for which, she feels, we all strive.
