Bio of H Rider Haggard

Haggard, Henry Rider (1856 AD - 1925 AD) Prolific English author, colonial administrator and agriculturist, who published colorful novels set in the unknown regions and lost kingdoms of Africa, or some other corners of the world. Haggard's best-known work is the romantic adventure tale King Solomon's Mines (1885), which was an immediate success. The tale was inspired by Robert Louis Stevenson's famous Treasure Island. In addition to writing more than 40 novels, Haggard also served as an adviser to the British government on agriculture. His other works include: She (1887), Allan Quatermain (1887), Nada the Lily (1892), Queen Sheba's Ring (1910), Marie (1912) and The Ivory Child (1916).
