Bio of Christine Feehan

I live in the beautiful mountains of Lake County, California. I have always loved hiking, camping, rafting and being outdoors. I've also been involved in the martial arts for years ' I hold a third degree black belt, instruct in a Korean karate system, and have taught self-defense. I am happily married to a romantic man who often inspires me with his thoughtfulness. We have a yours, mine, and ours family, claiming eleven children as our own. I have always written books, forcing my ten sisters to read every word, and now my daughters read and help me edit my manuscripts. It is fun to take all the research I have done on wild animals, raptors, vampires, weather, and volcanoes and put it together with romance.

  I skimmed over most of this book. While highly anxious to read it when it first came out and excited to get back into the world of the Carpathians, I found myself loosing interest at the constant battle scenes that dragged on and the descriptions of the long suffering injuries and healing processes of the two main characters.
  As well the endless chants used to defeat the darkness I found were unnecessary and had me flipping pages to get to the end of them rather than read them.
  
  I also didn't connect with the two main characters as I have with other couples in previous books in this series.
  I would recommend reading it for those who have been following the series and are looking for answers to questions, but if this is the first book of the series your reading, skip it.

  Have been following this series since Dark Prince so not very objective. If you enjoy inventive thought processes of the author's plausible magic infused world, problem solving, and seeing the author having a little fun turning her own cliche on its ear, then you will like this book. Have seen other reviews complaining about the use of linguistics, or that poetry is too long, blah blah, who said that a book had to be raced through? The heroine of the story is quite painstaking and thorough, be a little of that yourself and savor the story.
