Overview

Kylar Stern has rejected the assassin's life. The Godking's successful coup has left Kylar's master, Durzo, and his best friend, Logan, dead. He is starting over: new city, new friends, and new profession.

Brent Weeks was born and raised in Montana. After getting his paper keys from Hillsdale College, Brent had brief stints walking the earth like Caine from Kung Fu, tending bar, and corrupting the youth. (Not at the same time.) He started writing on bar napkins, then on lesson plans, then full time. Eventually, someone paid him for it. Brent lives in Oregon with his wife, Kristi. He doesn't own cats or wear a ponytail. • Not very good

  After being sucked into the first one for a $1, I thought I would see where the story goes. I am sorry to say the writing is very uneven and the editing is terrible. There are a great number of unexplained motivations and sudden differences in what characters know.

  I've read the complete series and if you read them all its a great story, and well worth reading!!!

  I enjoyed this series very much. An intelligent and exciting story. Just a warning about the hard language which often tended to get in the way of an otherwise great series.
